Having spent four years establishing and building Itraffic in the UK and producing numerous award-winning campaigns for brands including British Airways, NSPCC and Wanadoo along the way, Play’s Founding Partners Jon Sharpe, Ethan Segal & Matt Gorzkowski decided to quit Omnicom at the end of 2004 to do their own thing. As Omnicom merged Itraffic with Agency.com in response to their departures, M&C Saatchi quickly snapped up a 50% stake in Play.

Play began trading in January 2005. Two years later and things are looking good. Play has won 25 accounts including RBS, Qantas, Heinz and DSGi. The agency has also been awarded by prestigious bodies such as The IAB, Revolution and Campaign as well as being selected as a finalist for the BIMA and Green Awards. With Play now enjoying its 2nd year, the staff base is in double figures and the agency is growing fast.
